New Delhi. The Delhi-Saharanpur highway will be ready by early 2024. The National Highway Authority of India has set a target to prepare this highway before the year 2024. Since the Lok Sabha elections are to be held in the middle of 2024 and this highway will facilitate the movement of many cities of Western Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, it is expected that the construction of this highway will be completed by March 2024.

NHAI is not tolerating even the slightest negligence of the contractor to get the highway work completed soon. In the past, the tender was canceled after seeing the slow work of the company doing the construction work of the second phase. After this the work has been assigned to the new company. In this regard, Arvind Kumar, the project director of Delhi-Saharanpur Highway, says that the work progress is satisfactory after the release of the new tender for the second phase. The company has completed about 8 per cent of the work. He said that the target has been set to make it ready by the year 2024. After its construction, traffic will become easier in many cities of western Uttar Pradesh.

Work is being done in four parts

The work of Delhi to Saharanupar highway is being done in four parts. In this, the work from Baghpat to Saharanpur is being done in two parts and from Akshardham to EPE Khekra in two parts. The work from Baghpat to Saharanpur has started about two years ago. 14.75 kms from Akshardham via Geeta Colony, Shastri Park, Khajuri Khas to UP Border. ‘s work. At the same time, in the second package, 16.45 km from UP border to EPE Junction, Khekra via Mandola. ‘s work. The construction of the highway will give relief to those going towards Baghpat from Noida and East Delhi.

Elevated will be 14 km.
In the first part, 14 km stretch from Akshardham to UP border will be elevated, which will be made from Geeta Colony to Shastri Park, Khajuri Khas, Mandoli via UP border. On GT Road, this highway will go over the new flyover built in Shastri Park, from there it will be connected to the flyover through a loop, so that vehicles can easily bring vehicles from the flyover to Saharanpur. At the same time, 14 km in the second package. Highway will be built from UP border to EPE junction Baghpat.
