Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda on Sunday met Pushpa Kamal Dahal, president of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre), to explore measures to enhance and deepen ties between India and Nepal. News agency ANI reported.
Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” was attended by Ganga Dahal, his daughter and his son-in-law.
The two leaders also discussed ways to improve the age-old cultural and people-to-people ties as well as party-by-party cooperation.
“It is an honor to welcome Shri Pushpa K Dahal” Prachanda, former PM of Nepal and interact with him today at BJP Headquarters in New Delhi as part of the ‘Know the BJP’ initiative, Nadda said on Twitter.
“We had fruitful discussions on strengthening and deepening ties between India and Nepal, especially our age-old cultural and people-to-people ties. We also discussed ways to take the party-by-party cooperation forward,” he said.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and BJP’s foreign media in-charge Vijay Chauthawale were also present in the meeting.
Notably, Pushpa Kamal Dahal is in India at the request of “Prachanda” BJP President JP Nadda.
Various approaches to improve party-by-party cooperation were explored during the discussions between the two leaders. BJP President JP Nadda has launched a unique campaign named “Know the BJP” to reach out to a wider audience.
India will remain a loyal partner of Nepal, Jaishankar said on Friday while welcoming Dahal.

“Reflecting our Neighborhood First policy, India will continue to be a firm partner of Nepal in its quest for progress and prosperity,” he said in another tweet.
Significantly, the former Prime Minister of Nepal is in India for three days. BJP’s international relations department head Vijay Chauthawale described the meeting as “important”. “This gathering is important and will be part of the ‘Know the BJP’ campaign.” This is the first time the BJP has extended an invitation to the Communist Party of Nepal.”
According to reports, Prachanda will also meet National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. On 6 April 2022, the party’s 42nd foundation day, the “Know the BJP” campaign was launched. The second phase took place on May 16, 2022, while the third phase took place on June 4, 2022.
“Know the BJP” campaign is a BJP effort to communicate the party’s vision, goals and work culture to people across the world. As part of this initiative, Nadda has so far met Nepal’s Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and envoys from 47 countries.
So far, Nadda has met diplomats/heads of missions of 47 countries including the European Union.
Earlier this month, Nadda met Nguyen Van Nan of the Communist Party of Vietnam at the BJP headquarters in the national capital.
Earlier, in the fourth phase of the “Know the BJP” campaign, Nadda met “heads of missions” from 13 countries at the party’s central headquarters.
Addressing the visiting diplomats, Nadda said, “It is our belief that there should be better communication between the political systems and political parties of different countries so that we can understand each other’s point of view.”
“The BJP firmly believes in healthy democracy and shared cultural ties,” he said.
