The monsoon session of Parliament has begun today for the election of the 15th President of India. During the session, the Center is likely to announce 24 Bills, including the Press Registration Periodic Bill, 2022. The session is scheduled to start at 11 am.
National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu and United Opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha are the two candidates for the presidential election.
News agency ANI reported that on the first day of the monsoon session, the Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery System (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Amendment Bill, 2022 will be taken up.

Congress MP in Rajya Sabha KC Venugopal adjourns business notice under Rule 267 to discuss inflation and recent increase in GST of certain essential commodities, ANI reported.
The central government will introduce a bill in the Rajya Sabha later in the day to amend the Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Distribution System (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005.
The bill, named as the Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery System (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Amendment Bill, 2022, will be introduced in the Upper House of Parliament during legislative business that begins in the afternoon. (ANI)
