Parliament Monsoon Session: Today is the second day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament. Once again the opposition is expected to be aggressive. Congress and other opposition parties are preparing to surround the central government on the issue of inflation. Congress will protest outside Parliament from 10 am today. Earlier on Monday, the monsoon session started with a ruckus. Opposition parties created ruckus in both houses of Parliament over inflation, imposition of Goods and Services Tax (GST) on certain food items including milk and curd, Agnipath scheme and some other issues.
Due to the uproar, the proceedings of both the houses were disrupted. The proceedings were adjourned for the day at 2 pm after a one-time adjournment.
PM Modi appeals to opposition parties
Earlier, PM Narendra Modi requested the members of all political parties to make maximum use of the time of the Parliament session. He said that they should discuss and debate on various subjects with open mind and if necessary criticize them so that very positive contribution can be made in the policy and decisions.

Talking to the media in the Parliament House complex on the first day of the Monsoon session, the Prime Minister said, “The House runs because of everyone’s efforts, so while doing our duty to enhance the dignity of the House, we should spend this session the most in the national interest.” It is worth noting that the Monsoon Session of Parliament will last till August 12. There will be 18 meetings in a total period of 26 days.
