SHARE MARKET CLOSING BELL: On Monday, the first trading day of the week, there was a tremendous rise in the stock market. The BSE Sensex jumped 760.37 points to 54,521.15 and the NSE Nifty gained 229.30 points to 16,278.50. The US markets closed with gains on Friday due to positive global cues. Its effect was seen on the heavy market today. Indian markets closed with good momentum after a long time. US markets were supported by good results, strong economic data and expectations of the Federal Reserve not going too aggressively on interest rates.

Tremendous rise in these stocks returned

IndusInd Bank, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank, UltraTech Cement, Kotak Mahindra Bank and ICICI Bank were the major gainers in the Sensex stocks. On the other hand, the losers included Dr. Reddy’s Lab, HDFC Bank, Maruti, Mahindra & Mahindra, Nestle, Hindustan Unilever and HDFC.

The market strengthened further on the basis of IT companies

Narendra Solanki, Head of Basic Research, Anand Rathi Investment Services said, “The domestic market opened with gains amid a positive trend in Asian markets. In the afternoon trade, buying in shares of IT, technology and capital goods companies further strengthened the market. Buying in stocks of big companies like Infosys, Tech Mahindra also supported the market. In other Asian markets, South Korea’s Cospi, China’s Shanghai Composite Index and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were notable gainers. Major markets in Europe were up in early trade.

Foreign investors continue to sell

The US market closed with gains on Friday. Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude jumped 2.18 per cent to $103.4 per barrel. According to stock market data, the sell-off by foreign institutional investors continues. He sold shares worth Rs 1,649.36 crore on Friday.

Market was open with good momentum

On Monday, the Indian market opened with strength. Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro, Sun Pharma, IndusInd Bank, Wipro, Tata Steel and UltraTech Cement were among the top gainers in the Sensex. In the previous session, the 30-share BSE Sensex had closed at 53,760.78, up 344.63 points, or 0.65 per cent, on Friday. Similarly, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange also closed at 16,049.20, up 110.55 points, or 0.69 per cent.
