SLC shifts venue of 2nd Test vs Pakistan from Colombo to Galle

Colombo: The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Board on Sunday changed the venue of the second Test against Pakistan from the capital Colombo to Galle. The SLC said that the decision was taken to mitigate the challenges faced by the stakeholders in conducting the tour related operations due to the prevailing conditions in the country. The first Test between hosts Sri Lanka and Pakistan is currently underway in Galle and the second Test is scheduled to begin on July 24.

Interestingly, this is also the first time that the Indian women’s cricket team and the Australian men’s cricket team have visited the island nation recently. Both tours involving Australia and India went smoothly, with Australia also praising the hosting of Sri Lankans amid the growing economic crisis in the country.
