The Internet certainly never runs out of bizarre content. And in today’s episode of ‘What were they thinking’ we want to show you excerpts from the menu of a restaurant in America that specializes in South Indian food. The names used in menus to describe staples like dosa and vada will just leave you baffled.
A Twitter user, Inika shared some screenshots of the menu provided by the restaurant named Indian Crepes Company. In case you don’t know, crepes are a type of savory dish that can also be enjoyed as a dessert. But turns out, the word crepe was used on the menu to describe the dosa! He is not everything. Vada and Rasam were described as dunked donut delight, while uttapam was described as a classic lentil pancake. Yep, we’re not kidding.
Also, don’t forget to name plain dosa.

I hate it when Indian names are not used.
Sushi, Sashimi are easily used and everyone understands what they are.
I believe it is Indians who don’t like to use Indian names – Westerners are fine with that.— Madhumita D. Majumdar (@mdmzd) 17 July 2022
