Outgoing British Prime Minister Boris Johnson enjoyed his pleasure ride on a Royal Air Force (RAF) plane last week. A video shared by Downing Street shows Boris Johnson wearing a mask as he took off in a fighter jet.

Wearing flying overalls, Boris Johnson gave a thumbs-up to the other two planes flying next to him.

“Prime Minister Boris Johnson takes off in the cockpit of a Typhoon fighter jet from RAF Conningsby in Lincolnshire,” read the caption of a Downing Street YouTube post.

The British Prime Minister was visiting RAF Coonsby in Lincolnshire last week to inspect a rapid response alert station. The video was shot when Boris Johnson was given a demonstration of a Typhoon fighter jet by the pilots and air crew.

The outgoing PM claimed that he took control of the plane for a while to perform some tricks. Johnson told reporters that when Wing Commander Paul Hansen asked him if he wanted to fly the jet, he took the opportunity and pushed the joystick.

Boris Johnson resigned as Prime Minister on 7 July after several ministers resigned from their posts. However, he will remain in this position till his successor is elected.
