Virat Kohli congratulates team-mates after a spectacular win at Old Trafford

Team India won the third and last ODI at Old Trafford, Manchester on Sunday. Riding on Rishabh Pant’s masterclass and Hardik Pandya’s all-round performance, the visitors beat Jos Buttler & Co by 5 wickets to win the 3-match series 2-1.

Chasing a target of 260 runs, India fell to 38/3 at one point. Captain Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli were all back in the hut and the road ahead looked challenging. However, the pair of Pant and Pandya put on a 133-run partnership in just 115 balls to ensure a memorable win for the Men in Blue.

After a satisfactory win, former captain Kohli took to the Ku app and congratulated his teammates. “Fantastic run chase and a great series,” read the caption of his post.

Mohammed Shami, who had a brilliant England series, also congratulated the Indian team after the victory in the third ODI. Shami said on the Ku app, “Congratulations @indiancricketteam Great effort, good players won the T20, ODI series.”

Meanwhile, former India batsman VVS Laxman is happy to see Team India dominate the England soil after a spectacular series win over England on Sunday. The NCA chief said the partnership between Pant and Pandya helped India make a comeback in the third ODI against England.

“A great chase to win the ODI series. The partnership between @RishabhPant17 and @HardikPandya7 was a phenomenal comeback. It was great to see the dominance of India on English soil. Congratulations and salutes,” Laxman posted on a social media platform.

England’s team was reduced to 259 runs in the 46th over and India chasing the target, won the series 2-1 in 42.1 overs. Pant led India to victory by scoring his maiden ODI century in the process.
